Justin Townes Earlie - Koko, London

Went with my friend Johnny to see Justin Townes Earle. Having seen his Dad play a bunch of times, it was a little odd how similar a performer Justin is. Physically he's a lot skinnier, and his voice has a softer almost pop aspect - but the mumbled self-depreciating song intros are 100% Steve.
Started solo acoustic for the first few songs, he was quickly joined by a second guitarist and double-bass player.
I'm not hugely familiar with his entire back catalogue but I really enjoyed "Maria", "They Killed John Henry", the spine-tingling "Mama's Eyes", and a great bluegrassy take on The Replacements "Can't Hardly Wait".
